While the emerging field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) offers disagreeing parties, and over 82% of litigated cases, confidential and cost-effective dispute resolution processes, there remains a communication gap upstream. In other words, disputants, counsel, and dispute resolution practitioners seldom connect in the initial stages of conflict and instead rely on litigation or the court system to force alternative options and early resolution.

Having been around the ADR field academically and professionally since 2008, and formally launching ADR Times in early 2010, we’ve seen the positive progression of the industry and the myriad of platforms, providers, and associations that have sprung up to address specific niches. We’ve also witnessed the shortcomings.

Given the field’s decentralized nature, there’s a lack of a cohesive managed community platform. Until now.

In other words, the field has long yearned for a dynamic global community – a centralized online space for thought leadership, open communication, and direct connections between disputants, counsel, and ADR practitioners.

“In 2010, the late Tim Pownall (1948-2016) and I envisioned a parties-first approach to offer people and professionals entangled in conflict direct access to dispute resolution excellence and to bring practitioners and parties together,” said Mark Fotohabadi, Co-Founder & Publisher of ADR Times.

“As many digital publishers continue to migrate most of their content behind paywalls, we have opted to pivot to a tiered subscription model that will offer premium content, in-depth analysis, and a managed community solution. We will continue to offer the bulk of our ADR coverage and blog content for free, and simply layer in the new platform to offer our growing readership more options.”

The newly launched membership platform will offer our global readership exclusive access to premium, in-depth content in an ad-free environment, peer-to-peer and public-to-practitioner connections with a growing global directory, and access to a moderated community, allowing thought leadership, real-time advice sharing, and early case resolutions to flourish.

The three membership subscription tiers with their discounted introductory rates are:

Flexible: This tier offers members month-to-month subscription flexibility and includes over 100 premium evergreen articles, expert analysis, commentary, and access to our hyper-engaged community—as well as discounts on our PDF newsletters, digital downloads, webinars, training, etc.—all in an ad-free environment. This option is $39/month.

Annual: In addition to everything included in our Flexible plan, Annual members get two months for free, pay only once a year, and get preferred directory placements. This option is $390/year.

Teams: Along with everything included in our Annual plan, teams can sign up as groups of 4 or more. Each member’s pricing is 12% less and additional team members will pay only $360 for the annual subscription. This option will cost $1,390/year.

“Strategically, we see the ADR field becoming more collaborative, and the need for a global community more pronounced,” Fotohabadi commented. “Just as integrative bargaining in advanced mediations delves ‘below the line’ to uncover underlying interests to expand the pie for all parties, we’re leveraging blue ocean strategies to help facilitate a dynamic global and vetted community, and welcome you to join us.”

ADR Times is a leading global source and online community of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) information and in-depth insights, for people and professionals entangled in conflict – to help resolve disputes – without litigation.
